fans of Steve McQueen will be disappointed cos’ this beautiful Baja Boot Buggy, once own by actor and motor enthusiast Steve McQueen, is not for sale but at least it didn’t end up in some junkyards. hailed as “the most innovative off-road racers ever built”, it is now part of the collection of the Dutch National Motor Museum, so if you happen to visit this must-go museum for any motoring enthusiast, you will be able to see more than just the side profile (as posted here). the car was developed by General Motors when approached by McQueen to build a vehicle that can perform over rough terrain dished out by the demanding Baja races. for people who are fascinated by the workings of the world, it can be frustrating not being able to see those workings with a bird’s eye view physically. not even if you are a Superman, who theoretically, doesn’t exist anyway. the next best thing would be to visit the Miniatur Wunderland located in Hamburg, Germany. we featured the Knuffingen Miniature Airport of this breathtaking museum of the miniatures back in May, and now they have a new video to showoff to the world. the Miniatur Wunderland boost the world’s largest model railway with a mind boggling 13km of railway tracks with about 930 trains and 14,450 wagons traveling through it. other highlights of this surreal miniature setup includes 215,000 hand-glued figurines, and 300,000 mini LEDs were used for the lighting effect for buildings, autos, aircrafts and ships. Tiger & Turtle – Magic Mountain walkable Roller Coaster

we are familiar with roller coasters but have you heard of a walkable one? well, soon there will be one in Duisburg, Germany. this particular walkable, huge outdoor structure (or sculpture, if you like) entitled Tiger & Turtle – Magic Mountain is sculptured after a roller coaster thrill ride complete with loop, bends and a roller coaster’s signature undulating profile. except that this ‘roller coaster’ does not have a ride to thrill us but instead, it has stairs for visitors to walk along the whole length – well, almost. of course, you don’t expect yourself to walk upside down, anyway, do you? which means, your walk should terminated around that loop point. kind of disappointing, eh? as kid i was fascinated by the workings of an airport and the problem was, i never get to see the ‘overall picture’ of the airport at work. it will be ultra cool if i can get to see all the bustling activities of an airport’s workings. it looks like my wish has just came true. Hamburg’s famed ‘Miniatur Wunderland‘, the world’s largest model railway exhibit has just officially opened the ‘Knuffingen Airport’, a computer-controlled miniature airport complete with moving vehicles, working lights, and aircraft that take off and land continuously. my worst fear of flying isn’t the flying itself but it is the landing part that i fear most. the landing has never fail cause me great pain in the ears, mainly due to the fact that my ears don’t pop however hard i try. here’s a nifty gadget from Cirrus Healthcare Products, dubbed the EarPlanes, that could solve my woes about flying. when plugged into the ears, the EarPlanes built-in ‘CeramX’ filter regulates the air pressure between the cabin and those within your ears. thus, relieving your ear form discomfort, clogging and popping.
