It is safe to say you will probably not see this outside of China. Notwithstanding this fact, we must talk about this collab between GravaStar and the video game Assassin’s Creed because it looks fantastic. GravaStar has partnered with Ubisoft to launch a limited edition GravaStar x Assassin’s Creed Mars Pro Speaker.
The speaker is essentially a repaint of the brilliant 20 W Bluetooth speaker we adore so much. However, it is the speaker’s decor is not inspired by the controversial upcoming Assassin’s Creed Shadows. It is inspired by Assassin’s Creed Odyssey from 2018.
The familiar Mars Pro silhouette is given a goldish-bronze colorway with a unique texture that resembles the texture you find on wrought iron—especially on modern wrought iron gates. You know, the grainy texture that kind of looked like the crackling of super dry mud? That one.
This unique textured pattern can be found through the main surfaces of the speaker, including the tripod legs. The goldish-bronze textured speaker is contrasted by the accent of darker shades that look like scuffed metal. This “scuffed metal” can be found on the touch-sensitive volume control, the back panel above the woofer diaphragm, and on the side “gills” around the front.
The body is crafted from die-cast alloy, and the color is painted and then weathered by hand by a professional collectible figure maker. If the product images were to be believed, the speaker looks like it was pulled straight out of ancient Greece —if ancient Greece had Bluetooth speakers.
In this limited-edition Mars Pro Bluetooth speaker, GravaStar’s logo is relocated to the bottom front. In its original place is now stamped with the Assassin’s Creed logo. A large Assassin’s logo can be found on the woofer diaphragm. The aesthetic is not the only cool thing about this special edition speaker; it is the iconic Assassin’s hood.
That’s right, my friends, the GravaStar x Assassin’s Creed Mars Pro Speaker also comes with a removable hawk’s beak hood. Mind you though. This isn’t just any piece of cloth.
It is a gold silk fabric, custom tailored with the classic hawk’s beak, and can be worn by the speaker, turning it into the mysterious, fabled legendary Assassin. This hood does not just drape over the speaker, it has the legs covered too.
Completing the Assassin’s Creed package is a cobranded limited-edition commemorative card, a set of cobranded limited stickers, and custom packaging resembling a cargo crate that you would not want to throw away.
Beyond the Assassin’s Creed’s aesthetic. The GravaStar x Assassin’s Creed Mars Pro Speaker [CH] remains the same Mars Pro you know and love. That means the awesome sound quality and 20 W of peak power output from its 2.5” full-range subwoofer and 0.5” tweeter, frequency response of 20 Hz -20 kHz, Bluetooth 5.0 with up to 15 meters range, and more.
GravaStar said that the speaker is limited to 1,000 units “worldwide”—each laser engraved with its unique number, but as far as I know, it is only available in the China market. We found it sold on the official GravaStar store on Chinese TikTok for 2,599 yuan (around US$360).
