Honor MagicBook Art 14 Laptop

We don’t feature many Chinese laptops here. TBH, laptops are rather bland unless they have some novel features or gimmicks like the MagicBook Pro 16 with platform-level AI capabilities or the new Honor MagicBook Art 14. Looking like a MacBook Air aside, the Honor MagicBook Art 14 has one super interesting gimmick: it has a removable webcam.

Dubbed “AI smart eye”, this webcam is the ultimate in privacy because there is no webcam present by default. The webcam is a modular piece that is stowed away in the computer on the right (or your left). It attaches to the top of the laptop screen when you need to use it.

There is an obvious con here: you may misplace it or someone or something (like your cat, for example) may knock it off and it gets lost in your huge mansion. It’s an exaggeration but it can happen. This so-called “AI smart eye” attaches to the top of the laptop screen magnetically and can be rotated 180°. It supports subject tracking, thus fulfilling the needs of single-person and multiple-person meetings.

In addition, the new Honor MagicBook Art 14 [CH] is touted as lighter, thinner, and “more AI”. The device is just one cm thin (or more precisely 11.5 mm or approximately 0.45 inches), and a kilogram light (1.03 kilograms to be precise, or about 2.27 pounds). But we have no idea just how much more AI it is.

Anyhoo, the device also touts an eye-popping 14.6-inch 3.1K (3120 x 2080 resolution) Honor Oasis eye-protection display that supports 4,320 Hz PWM dimming and a large, self-developed pressure-sensitive touchpad.
