Porsche Taycan New Record at Interlagos

What is up with Porsche and its obsession with breaking lap records? The German automaker just can’t take a break from, well, breaking records. The last time we checked, the Taycan GTS was drifting on ice in the Arctic Circle for a Guinness World Record. Before that, Porsche had already racked up three world records. Now, it’s added another—this time at Interlagos.

Porsche Taycan New Record at Interlagos

On February 5, Porsche works driver Felipe Nasr pushed the Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package to a blistering 1:42.1 lap around the 4.3-kilometer Brazilian F1 circuit. That’s nearly eight seconds faster than the Taycan Turbo S’s 2022 record and even quicker than the 911 Turbo S.

Nasr called the Taycan Turbo GT a “real performance machine,” and with a top speed of 272 km/h on the main straight, it’s hard to argue. The steering was sharp, the grip was solid, and the acceleration was, in his words, “brutal.”

This marks the Taycan’s fourth lap record across four continents. At this rate, Porsche might just run out of circuits to conquer.
