Custom luxury gadget brand Caviar celebrates the launch of the new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold phones while paying homage to some of cinema’s most iconic characters in the brand’s Legends collection. Caviar took the newly launched Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 and Z Fold8 Ultra and gave them the sort of makeover that makes an ordinary protective case feel severely underdressed.

The collection comprises three designs: The Godfather, Scarface, and Joker. The Godfather dresses the Galaxy Z Fold8 in a restrained portrait of Don Vito Corleone, complete with his tuxedo, bow tie, and scarlet lapel rose. It is quiet authority rendered in gold, and possibly the only phone capable of making a notification feel like an offer you should seriously consider.
Scarface also uses the Galaxy Z Fold8, placing Tony Montana and his unmistakable white suit at the center of an ornate composition framed by geometric patterns and warm gold detailing. Subtle it is not, but Tony Montana was never in danger of being mistaken for a minimalist.
The Joker receives the range-topping Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, naturally. Its back features the character’s signature makeup, green hair, playing cards, and a suitably chaotic mixture of purple, green, white, and burgundy. If any character was going to insist on the Ultra, it was him.
All three portraits are handcrafted using hot cloisonné enamel. Caviar artisans form gold-plated contours into tiny cells, fill them with colored enamel, and fire the artwork at temperatures reaching 800°C (1,472°F). The device frames and major design accents are finished with 24-karat gold plating.
Production is limited to just 19 examples of each design worldwide, with every phone receiving an individual serial number and certificate of authenticity. Caviar will also recreate any of the three designs on a preferred iPhone model upon request, should folding phones conflict with your cinematic allegiances.
The Godfather and Scarface Galaxy Z Fold8 editions start at US$12,560, while the Joker Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra starts at US$12,990.The prices are clearly not for ordinary folks. Then again, when have Caviar-touched devices ever been?
