Dominic Toretto’s iconic 1970 Dodge Charger R/T may be fast. But you know what else is fast? The rate at which Cinemark’s Fast & Furious Anniversary merch flew off the shelves. That’s right. They are gone. Probably not in 10 seconds, because they were still available last week when I bookmarked the collection as “need to write about it.”
I am sorry that we are late on this. But hey. Not everything you read about needs to be bought, right? I mean, knowledge—even about things as non-useful as this—is wealth, am I right?
Anyhoo, to celebrate 25 years since the original 2001 street-racing classic The Fast and the Furious, Cinemark served up three limited-edition items: the Fast & Furious Dom’s Charger Car Bucket, Fast & Furious Anniversary 130 oz. Hexagon Tin with Lid, and Fast & Furious Anniversary Nitrous Cup.
Obviously, the latter does not actually contain nitrous oxide, and drinking any beverage from it most certainly will not give a sudden burst in speed.
The star product is undoubtedly Dom’s Charger Bucket, despite it not being the star car of the OG film. To be fair, the original film’s focus was undoubtedly on JDMs, or Japanese cars popular in the U.S. market at the time. I mean, even a mundane 1999 Nissan Maxima SE (A32) was souped up into a performance ride.
Anyhoo, the Fast & Furious Dom’s Charger Car Bucket is based on one of the most famous muscle cars in cinema history—which wasn’t Eleanor, apparently. Like the Batmobile Popcorn Bucket and Deadpool Taxi Popbucket, the entire 66 oz. interior of the display-worthy popcorn bucket serves as a vessel for popcorn. Just pop the hinged top open to access the popcorn, which is not included, obviously.
The bucket measures 15.5 inches (39.4 cm) long and was sold for US$39.95.
The Fast & Furious Anniversary 130 oz. Hexagon Tin with Lid was less exciting, IMHO. It is a hexagonal collectible tin featuring F&F-themed license plate-style graphics. The bucket has a capacity of 130 oz. and measures 7.5 × 7.5 × 8.6 inches (19.1 × 19.1 × 21.8 cm). It had a list price of US$14.95.
The collection also included the aforementioned nitrous bottle-shaped cup, officially called the Fast & Furious Anniversary Nitrous Cup. It holds 32 oz. of your favorite beverage. Beverage as in liquid, not gas.
It comes complete with a straw and a lid that finishes the look of a nitrous bottle with a knob and gauge. The gauge is, of course, non-functional. It was sold for US$24.95.
