The growing normalization of electric vehicles has made the announcement of a new traditional combustion engine refreshingly unique. Just when it seemed that automakers were phasing out the development of internal combustion engines (ICE), Aston Martin revealed a new V12 engine.
This powerplant is set to redefine the ultra-luxury segment with a completely redesigned structure aimed at optimizing and enhancing performance.
It features a strengthened cylinder block and conrods, redesigned cylinder heads with reprofiled camshafts, new intake and exhaust ports, repositioned spark plugs, and new higher-flow-rate fuel injectors.
These improvements are supported by new, higher-speed, reduced-inertia turbochargers that deliver increased performance and throttle response. In total, the new V12 engine produces 838 PS (827 HP) and 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft) of torque.
But it’s not just about the engineering and the brute power; the engine is also a sight to behold. Each unit is topped with a high-gloss herringbone carbon fiber engine cover, adorned with enamelled Aston Martin wings.
This engine will power the British marque’s most exclusive and limited models and will be handcrafted, year by year, in strictly limited quantities.
The new Aston Martin V12 engine will make its debut in a new flagship model, described as “the heart of a true dynamic disruptor,” set to debut later in 2024. Meanwhile, you can savor the sweet notes this V12 engine makes here:
