ASUS ROG has introduced a nifty accessory for PC gamers out there. It is a M.2 drive enclosure called ASUS ROG Strix Arion. Yeah. It is an external SSD enclosure, but it ain’t like no other.
It is sleek, thin, highly portable and it screams “futuristic.” After looking at the ASUS ROG Strix Arion, I promise you probably won’t want to look at other portable hard drive enclosures.
But here’s the thing, the ASUS ROG Strix Arion is not your typical SSD enclosure. As mentioned earlier, it is a M.2 drive enclosure, complete with USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C interface, that lets you pack the blazing-fast M.2 NVM2 drive of your choice inside.
Despite its thin profile, ASUS ROG managed to pack some vanity in it and that is the Aura Sync-enabled lighting that makes ASUS ROG trademark logo (and part of the “handle”) comes to live with colors.
In addition, the unique all-metal aluminum case with an exclusive Strix paint job serves as a passive heat sink, aided by integrated thermal pads.
What really makes the ASUS ROG Strix Arion stands out is not just the uniquely ROG look; it is its screwdriver-free installation. All you to need crack this thing open is the bundled pin tool.
Rounding the package is an exclusive charm hook which attaches to the enclosure with an included rubber bumper. When wrapped in the rubber bumper, Arion meets the MIL-STD-810G 516.6 drop test standards.
ASUS ROG Strix Arion External SSD Enclosure is slated to arrive later this year with a yet to be announced pricing.
