Do you know that Audi has never before competed in F1? But that is set to change in 2026 when the German automaker will enter the Formula 1 championship as a power unit manufacturer with Sauber.
Audi revealed its intention to compete at the FIA Formula 1 World Championship in August and then in October, the automaker announced that it has selected Sauber as a strategic partner and plans to acquire a stake in the Sauber Group too.
The traditional Swiss racing team is set to become an Audi factory team beginning in 2026. But that is 2026. Meanwhile, Audi has another surprise relating to this development: it is already part of virtual Formula 1.
A show car with Audi F1 launch livery is now available in the official EA SPORTS F1 22 video game from Codemasters, available for PlayStation (US$39.99), Xbox (US$31.99+), and PC (from US$59.99). The game is also available in VR on PC.
All current teams, drivers, and tracks are included in the game with Audi’s show car being part of the “Podium Pass Series 4 VIP tier” which was available since December 7.
