What are the odds that anyone still has 78 revolutions per minute vinyl records in their collection? You probably find it hard to locate a modern turntable to even plays them. However, if you are in the market for a vinyl spinner that plays 78 RPM records, well, Audio-Technica AT-LP5X Direct Drive Turntable is up to the task.
A follow-up to the AT-LP5, the Audio-Technica AT-LP5X Direct Drive Turntable also playback 33-1/3 and 45 RPM records and boasts a bunch of improvements. These include a switchable moving magnet/moving coil phono preamp, AT-VM95E Dual Magnet Phono Cartridge with a replaceable stylus, an outboard power supply that reduces signal chain, static balanced J-shaped tonearm inspired by the classic A-T models of the 60s and 70s, and of course, the ability to play 78 RPM records.
Other highlights include a low-noise direct drive motor system, fully manual operation, lightweight AT-HS6 headshell, anti-resonance die-cast aluminum platter, and heavy rubber damping mat for improved low-frequency reproduction.
Each unit comes supplied with a dual RCA (male) to dual RCA (male) stereo cable, a 45 RPM adapter, a USB cable, and a dust cover with mounting hardware.
