The watch world already has a Joker, and now it has one with a heart. The BEHRENS × Konstantin Chaykin Ace of Heart takes the famous face-like dial from Chaykin’s Wristmons collection and gives it a playful twist. The eyes still tell the time, but the seconds now travel along a heart-shaped path, turning the dial into an even more expressive mechanical character. It is part art piece, part horological engineering, and very much the kind of collaboration that independent watchmaking thrives on.

Three years after their successful 2022 collaboration, BEHRENS and independent watchmaker Konstantin Chaykin have reunited for the Ace of Heart. The watch blends BEHRENS’ asymmetrical Ultra-Light design language with Chaykin’s unmistakable Joker-inspired dial concept.
The collaboration actually rolled out in stages. Earlier releases included a Grade 5 titanium model limited to 600 pieces, followed by SPS black carbon and white carbon editions limited to 150 pieces each. The final chapter arrives in the form of a striking blue sapphire crystal version limited to just 80 pieces.
Design details add to the playful personality. The crescent-shaped mouth references Han dynasty ceramic figurines, while the seconds hand tip changes from a spade to a heart. The seconds display follows a curved heart-shaped track driven by BEHRENS’ patented millstone-style mechanism.
Inside sits the in-house BM07 manual-winding movement, featuring 11 patented technologies, beating at 28,800 vph (4 Hz) with around 46 hours of power reserve.
The watch measures 37 × 42 mm, is 7.9 mm thick, uses sapphire crystal front and back, and offers 5 ATM water resistance. The Ace of Heart is priced at 3,300,000 yen (about US$22,000) in Japan and is available through select retailers. It is also listed on Chrono24.com as a pre-owned piece for US$13,947.
