there is always the middle ground between entry level and high end products, and the new Bowers & Wilkins’ (B&W) PM1 bookshelf speakers are one of those speakers that sit on that middle ground. the PM1 features a Nautilus Tapering Tube tweeter loaded with a brand new type tweeter, dubbed as the Carbon Braced Tweeter that raises the break-up frequency to 40 kHz and beyond. the speaker sports a 5-inch woven Kelvar driver and a 1-inch tweeter driver.

another notable features is its beautifully crafted cabinet. the cabinet combines the Matrix bracing system for greater rigidity, with a new moulded baffle and top plate for “improved image localization.” constructed with real wood veneers with mocha gloss finish, these are speakers that you won’t want them to be on the shelf. i have always has my eyes (or ears) for B&W speakers if not for its prohibitive price tags. the B&W PM1 monitor speakers are now available and can be yours for just £1,995 (about US$3,240) a pair. now, that’s a price that requires a little shorter saving time.
