Our excitement over the AMG x CaDA Mercedes-AMG One building set is yet to subside and already, we heard CaDA has another exciting collaboration with another major automobile maker. This time it is with the Italian marque, Alfa Romeo, and its 2022 Formula 1 race car, Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN C42 2022. This car is not just any F1 car. It is a car of significance because it is the race car (designated #24) driven by the first Chinese F1 driver, Zhou Guanyu, in his debut season.
The CaDA Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN C42 2022 [CH], which packs 1,868 pieces, is a 1:8 scale officially licensed model of Zhou’s F1 race car from the 2022 season. Like the AMG model, this model is chockful of parts exclusively for this model. Among the new molds include printed wheels, and slick tires developed by CaDA for this model and supervised by Alfa Romeo. The tires are officially licensed by Pirelli too which allows the model’s tires to proudly wear the Pirelli branding along with the model of the tire, P Zero.
Many of the key features of the 2022 F1 race were recreated with brick and Technic-style elements, including the front and rear push-rod suspension, deep undercut sides with shark gill design/cooling louvers over the top, the signature front spoiler with winglets, the winglets over the front wheels, DRS adjustable rear spoiler, the halo driver crash-protection system, and the aerodynamic underside of the race car.
Other highlights include opening engine cover, synchronized steering wheel movement with front wheels, and a replica of the V6 hybrid engine. Finally, sponsor logos can be found decorating the entire race car. The CaDA Officially Licensed Alfa Romeo F1 Team Building Set comes with a plaque printed with the side profile of the race car and highlighting the achievement of “China Zhou” during the 2022 season, presented in text along with a graphic of the respective tracks. When completed, the model measures a shelf space devouring 66 x 25 x 12 cm (about 26 x 9.8 x 4.7 inches).
As excited as you may be, you got to know this is likely a China-only set [CH]. In any case, CaDA has yet to announce the availability and pricing of the model.
