while the Cadillac Elmiraj Concept Grand Coupe may not be a reality, it does hint on what the future holds for American luxury coupes, or at least for Cadillac. this four-seater concept bears all the trade of a sports car such as steeply raked windscreen, stretched bonnet, short overhang and more, topped off with the luxury and impeccable details that the American automaker has been known by. the Elmiraj is also a perfect example of the brand’s commitment to lightweight rear-wheel drive performance. a 4.5-liter twin turbo V8 engine, delivering a healthy 500 horses (373 kW) with a peak torque of 500 lb-ft (678 Nm), hauls this 4,000-pound (1.8 ton) luxury beast forward and with such power, it only natural that it wears the marque’s Vsport designation – though no performance figures were provided at this point, neither was the transmission made known.

anyhow, while the exterior looks production-plausible, we had a hard time grasping that interior will be what one would see in the production model – if it ever sees the light of production. the interior, comprising of rich camel leather, backlit titanium trims, and wood veneer honed out of fallen Brazilian Rosewood, no doubt super luxurious, but at the same time, the cabin carries a heavy tint of futurism in them that makes less likely to be arriving in near future. go ahead and call us skeptics, but we rather let you be your own judge by going through the handful of images in the gallery below.

other features include massive 22×9-inch aluminum wheels, large ceramic brakes with Cadillac monoblock calipers, bucket seats, reclinable rear seats, a front-mounted camera, a high resolution display delivering essential information to the driver, a concealable 10-inch navigation touchscreen, and a unique valet feature for the rear bucket seats. with the latter, the front bucket seat slides 10 inches forward, while the rear bucket slides about 4 inches forward, allowing the would-be rear passenger ease into the seat. once seated, the seat would slides the passenger back into position.

as said, it is a concept which may or may not be reality, but nevertheless an exciting insight into what Cadillac might be putting into their luxury rides in future. hit the jump to take a few more look.
