Canon IVY CLIQ Instant Print Cameras

Wait. Is there an instant-print fad going on? Apparently, there is. Because, Canon, a camera maker that’s usually oh-so-serious about photography equipment, is also jumping onboard the instant-print camera bandwagon, starting with a pair of instant print equipped cameras called IVY CLIQ. No. CLIQ are not cute like Fujifilm Instax, if that’s what you are thinking. But the duo are the best fun the serious camera maker can get and that’s by throwing in fun colors, and also the ability to add frames and whatnot on your photos prior to printing. You know, the usual stuff.

The two models offered are IVY CLIQ and IVY CLIQ+ with key differences between being the ability to customize, camera sensor, and colorways. Both cameras use ZINK Zero Ink technology and shares common features like 2×2 and 2×3 printing options, hold up to 10 sheets of ZINK paper, built-in optical viewfinder, charges via USB cable and loops to attach the included camera strap. The higher end of the duo is the IVY CLIQ+ features an 8 MP sensor, microSD card slot, remote shooting for group photo, sharing photo with a friend with reprint option, selfie mirror surrounded by an LED light ring and the ability to customize the on/off and shutter sounds with your own recording.

The ‘lesser’ IVY CLIQ, on the other hand, has a 5 MP sensor and features automatic flash, microSD card slot, and a selfie mirror that, sadly, does not have the LED light ring. But hey, the price should justify the lack of features. The IVY CLIQ costs just $99 while the IVY CLIQ+ commands $159.99 a pop when they become available this month. Both cameras come with ten sheets of 2×3 photo paper to get you started. CLIQ is offered in Bumblebee Yellow, Seaside Blue and Lady Bug Red. CLIQ+ comes in a choice of Pearl White, Sapphire Blue and Ruby Red.
