being a geek, i would tend to ‘soup’ up my gears. for example, i would pimp my iPhone with skins, cases and perhaps, the wallpapers. well, the same goes to my console game machines. if you are looking to spice up your console, perhaps the LUME-N8 could be a start. LUME-N8 is essentially strip of LEDs attached to the back of your PS3, giving an ambient light effect that you see on some LCD television sets. the LUME-N8 features two switchable light color: blood red and chilled out blue, to suit your taste or mood. user will be glad to know, it can be turn off unlike some cheap contraption which does not spot an on/off switch. excellent addition for those who like to game at night. now you can turn off the main lights and fired up your LUME-N8 and tune up your gaming mood a notch. the blood red effect looks kind of eery, though. R2-D2 with built-in projector is the coolest xbox 360 mod

personally, i’m not a huge fan of xbox 360 but this xbox 360 mod done by an instructables member ‘pizonbongo’ really had me go ‘wow’. this xbox 360 in R2D2 guise is definitely going to put a smile on both Star Wars fans and xbox 360 enthusiasts’ face. what makes the R2D2 xbox 360 even more wicked is the game interface can be directly projected to a wall via a built-in projector inside the R2D2, albeit not being a holographic projection (we are not there yet, but soon, i believe). the projector integration makes the whole mod appealing and gives it an extremely cool factor, don’t you think so? check out the intro video after the jump and also catch some images of the awesome xbox 360 R2D2 after the break. ever stop and marvel at today’s graphic engine? i know, i do. sometimes i think the CGI has progressed leaps and bounds to the extend that it blurs the line between reality and computer generated graphics. well, CryTek, the firm behind the game Crysis franchise, is set to blur the line between reality and virtual world further with its newest gaming engine, CryEngine 3. there is no use in trying to decipher the technicality behind this new engine (we are no engineers) but to witness it in action in the video after the jump. simply breathtaking! check it out. i’m still waiting to buy a set of the gaming racing wheel for my GT5 and like most racing simulator fans, i would love to have a home racing simulator but this is definitely not going to be one of the candidate that i have in mind. the VRS-P1 Prosumer Racing Simulator is constructed out of wooden (read: it’s a wooden box) which lets you experience the claustrophobic environment within a real racing car. within its confine, the VRS-P1 features a custom built adjustable fiberglass racing seat, adjustable mounting plate for pedals and custom mounting plates for Logitech G27 racing wheel.
