Custom See-through Volkswagen ID.3

Recently we came across a custom Volkswagen ID.3 EV that makes our jaws drop. It is a custom ride unlike anything we have seen thus far. It is not often we see custom EVs, let alone one that is completely transparent. That’s right, my friends, this Volkswagen ID.3 is completely transparent. OK. Maybe not ‘completely transparent’ per se but what can be made see-through has been made see-through.

The ride was customed and and owned by a Chinese automobile influencer Dog Bro Fast Dog (@狗哥FastDog) [CH] with the help of some specialists, including a professional car modding workshop and a vacuum mold specialist. Dog Bro did not actually replace the metal/plastic panels. OK. He sort of did.

The original panels were either cut or removed, leaving a border or a frame of sorts that allows them to be installed with custom-molded clear acrylic panels. According to the man himself, this is to ensure some form of integrity—well, whatever there is left. Lightings were added to result in the effect you see here.

When not lighted up. The EV is cool as hell and when it is lighted up, the LED lights are all set to mesmerize anyone who it passes. Not that it can be driven on the road legally. It was a huge sacrifice because this ID.3 ended up becoming a showcar that is not road-worthy anymore. But god damn it, it is definitely worth it.

When lighted up, the ride presents the true meaning of an electrifying look. It’s futuristic and cyberpunk all at the same time. It may not be road-worthy but Dog Bro did say it can always hit the track. Clearly, though, the safety of the car is questionable but who cares when it looks this awesome?

Speaking of awesome… the interior is as mesmerizing as the exterior. Before we get inside, it is worth mentioning that the C pillars are transparent too but not see-through. Instead, it is laid with a bunch of circuit boards pulled from some old personal computer. The circuit boards—which have a working computer fan on each C-pillar—offer an even more futuristic look. Dog Bro said this idea was inspired by Nothing Phone.

On the inside, it is completely white. The front only has a racing bucket seat for the driver. In place of the front passenger seat is a secondary battery that can provide an extra 30 kilometers (18.6 miles) range, and also supply power to the rest of the electronics which includes a PS5. Yes. It has a video game console in there too.

The Sony video game console is mounted next to a gaming setup with dual monitors, dual desks, an acrylic rack to keep the gaming peripherals organized, and an actual gaming chair—less the base, of course. Dog Bro Fast Dog’s ID.3 is possibly the craziest and coolest car modification we have seen in recent years.
