Holy shit. Thirty years? Already? Wow. Time really does fly. I fondly remember listening to Def Leppard, which was arguably one the biggest rock act of the 90s, when I was in my late teens. But that was before I became obsessed with Slayer and Sepultura, that is. Anywho, the British rock band Def Leppard is marking 30 years of the band’s seminal album Hysteria by releasing a 30th Anniversary Multi-Format Anniversary Edition Hysteria (Remastered 2017).
As the product name suggests, this celebratory edition is available in various formats including Super Deluxe Edition, Deluxe Version, 1 CD Vanilla Version, 2-LP Black Vinyl Version, and limited edition 2-LP Colored Vinyl Version. Fans can expect B-sides and live tracks, plus recording of “In The Round In Your Face (Live)” available for the first time on CD. Details of the versions as follow:
“…the Super Deluxe Edition boasts 5-CD/2-DVDs including four books—Story Of; a Ross Halfin photo book; Discography; Hysteria Tour Program and Tour Poster. The Deluxe Version features 3 CDs, the VanillaVersion is 1-CD, and the Vinyl Version is 2 Black LPs. In addition, there will be a limited-edition, 2-LP Colored Vinyl available via D2C channels for the first time.”
In case you are wondering, the Super Deluxe Edition is the one super fans need to get. That thing is packed with over 70 audio and video tracks, plus, as quoted above, fans must-have literatures, tour program and tour poster. However, if vinyl is your thing, then there’s no doubt you should gun for the colored vinyl version. Pricing-wise, the double vinyl LP costs £21.99 (or $17.56 in the U.S.), the colored vinyl double LP costs £23.99 while the Super Deluxe CD box set commands a hefty £84.99 (or a cool $112.49 in Stateside). Oh yes, we can’t find the 3 CD Deluxe Version on the official Def Leppard website, but it is being sold on Amazon U.S. for $19.99.
