The strangely classy rugged smartphone we told you about last week, the DOOGEE S98, is available for pre-orders today. We need to tell you this right now because we just received news that it is, for a limited time, going for US$239 on AliExpress. The price will revert to the original price of US$339 after April 01, 2022.
If you don’t already know, the DOOGEE S98 is the industry’s first dual-screen rugged phone that has a second screen on its rugged back cover. The second screen can be used as a watch with a customizable watch face and used as at-a-glance information like weather, notifications, for example.
The other highlight of the device is it is outfitted with a 20 MP night vision camera, in addition to a 64 MP main camera and a 16 MP selfie camera.
The device is powered by a MediaTek Helio G96, bolstered by 8 GB RAM and 256 GB. The latter is further expandable to 512 GB via a microSD card. Fronting the device is a 6.3-inch FHD+ waterdrop display with Corning Gorilla Glass.
A few other notables include IP rated for dust- and waterproof, MIL-STD-810G standard durability, NFC, customizable side button, side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a large 6,000 mAh battery with 33 W fast charger and supports 15 W wireless charging.
The DOOGEE S98 runs on Android 12 OS and promised three years of security and software updates. And yes, the device totally has Google apps.
