Dyson PencilWash Wet Mopping Cleaner

Say what you will about Dyson, but you cannot deny that innovation is the core of this company that makes all things that sucks and blow. It has a bunch of innovations, from a vac that lets you “see dirt” to headphones with an integrated air purifier to the thinnest and most powerful hairdryer. Now, it has done it again.

This time, it has engineered the slimmest and most compact wet mopping cleaner, aptly dubbed PencilWash. Clearly, PencilVac isn’t enough to flex its engineering wizardry because now Dyson wants your mop to go on a diet, too.

The Dyson PencilWash is built around a pencil-thin 38 mm handle and weighs just 2.2 kg, with only 380 g in hand. It lies flat to 170 degrees, sliding under furniture as low as 15 cm. In other words, it goes where your old mop gave up years ago.

Unlike conventional wet cleaners, this one is filter-free. No sludge. No smelly, damp filter. No performance drop over time. Instead, Dyson uses hydration, agitation, and extraction in one go. A high-density microfibre roller packed with 64,000 filaments per cm² spins rapidly while an eight-point hydration system feeds it fresh water only. Dirty water is extracted continuously into a separate 360 mL tank, while the 300 mL clean tank covers up to 100 m².

Two hydration modes let you adjust water flow depending on whether you are dealing with light spills or something that looks like a toddler crime scene. Runtime is up to 30 minutes, with a swappable battery for more.

The Dyson PencilWash is priced at £299.99 in the UK. Japan has been announced next, though pricing there is still under wraps.
