Some cars make you want to drive. A MOKE makes you want to take a holiday. We have featured a few MOKEs over the years, and the new Electric MOKE Mk2 retains that familiar open-air shape while addressing some less glamorous matters—like where to put your stuff.

Unveiled at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, the British-built Mk2 gets a higher-capacity battery, delivering up to 170 km (105 miles) of combined WLTP range. A 33 kW (about 44 hp) electric motor producing 100 Nm (74 lb-ft) of torque provides propulsion, while a revised vehicle layout improves weight distribution and handling.
The charging upgrade is welcome, too. A 6.6 kW onboard AC charger takes the battery from 20% to 80% in two hours under the stated conditions. A full charge using a standard 3.2 kW domestic supply takes approximately seven hours. Oh, right, the charging port has moved to the rear. Not particularly great news for head-in parkers. Though granted that most charging cables are long enough. But pulling the cord across the length of a car may trigger the OCD in some people (myself included).
Up front, there is now an 86-liter lockable storage compartment for bags, beach gear, and whatever else you would rather not keep around your feet. In an open-air car, somewhere to lock things away seems particularly useful.

The cabin gains a rotary gear selector, clearer warning lights, USB-C connectivity, a 12V outlet, rear cup holders, and wider footwells. Nothing terribly exotic, but these are the things you appreciate after the excitement of collecting your new car wears off.
European buyers also get the previously U.S.-only California colors: Sonoma Red, Laguna Blue, and Venice White. They join Wave Blue, Sunlight Yellow, Sunset Orange, Shell White, Eucalyptus Green, and Palm Green.
The Electric MOKE Mk2 is available to test-drive, rent, or buy in several European markets, priced at €35,000 (approximately US$39,100) before local taxes and incentives.
I would probably start with renting one. Preferably somewhere warm, with no particular urgency to return it.
