For aficionados of Dieter Rams‘ timeless aesthetic, the Ferro & Co. Time Master 70 will likely strike a profound chord. This new watch is steeped in the iconic flair of the 70s, yet its minimalist charm channels the unmistakable essence of Rams’ legendary 60s design principles.
The Time Master 70 stands as a paradox of simplicity and complexity, offering a clean and understated design that conceals intricate attention to detail. It’s a piece that doesn’t just tell time; it tells of an era where design was both a statement and a whisper. The watch has a 39 mm cushion shape case in a vertical brush finished 316L stainless steel.
The bezel is semi-square and in a radial brush finish set against polished walls. The case is 10.4 mm thin, and is 47 mm lug-to-lug, and has a 20 mm lug width. The crystal used is scratch-resistant sapphire and under the hood, a Japan Miyota Calibre 9039 keeps the time in check.
Other details include a screw-down crown with an embossed logo, water resistance to 100 meters (about 330 feet), brushed finish 316L stainless steel bracelets, and Luminova BGW9 hour marks and hands. The Silve Dial Hands are in contrasting Luminova Orange, btw.
Speaking of colors, there are four colors to choose from: Silver: Silver Boom, Orange: Tangerine Tango, Pink: Retro Rose, and Blue: Cielo Azul.
As before, Ferro & Co. has taken to Kickstarter to introduce this new timepiece to the world. As an appreciation to Kickstarter backer’s support, each watch will be engraved with “Founders Edition”.
