Here’s another bit of news to get Godzilla fans all hot, bothered, and possibly slightly radioactive. Shin Godzilla (2016) isn’t just stomping back into theaters in glorious 4K—it’s also getting the chibi treatment, courtesy of Good Smile Company, which has just added the 2016 incarnation to its adorably fearsome Nendoroid lineup.
The Good Smile Company Nendoroid Godzilla (2016), as it is called, may be adorable, but it comes with enough effect parts to put a smile on any Gojira fan’s face.
This little beast measures an adorable 10 centimeters (approximate) and includes two facial expressions—closed jaw and open jaw—plus bonus effect parts, including a replacement radiating dorsal fin and tail, radiation heat ray effects, and an explosion effect to simulate Shin Godzilla unleashing its devastating heat breath on anything in its way.
It also comes with a transparent stand for display and an additional stand to prop up the effect parts. Very, very cool.
The figurine has some level of posability. Pre-orders for the Good Smile Company Nendoroid Godzilla (2016) began in Japan on May 30, and the books will close on August 27, 2025 (Japan time). The asking price is 8,900 yen [JP], which works out to about 62 US dollars at the current exchange rate.
