Fans of Ford trucks who have been drooling over the 6×6 examples from Brabus, Mercedes-Benz, and Toyota, we have an awesome news for you. American tuner, Hennessey Performance has finally made the custom stretched version of the Ford F-150 Raptor, AKA VelociRaptor 6×6 Pickup Truck, available. Yup. You can stop drooling already and have your very own 6×6 with the good’ol American spirit. Like any vehicle that gets the Hennessey Performance’s magic touch, the VelociRaptor not only gets an extra axle, but it also pick up some go-fast bits too.
Under the hood mods includes modified turbo waste gates, a new intake, upgraded front mounted air-to-air intercooler, stainless steel exhaust and a remapped ECU to result in a V6 twin-turbo motor that kicks out up to 700 ponies. Holy shit. 700 horses for a pickup truck is a tad excessive, but hey, I am complaining – if only I could fork the asking price of a grand $349,000 or more. In return for the princely amount, you will get to enjoy the monstrosity offered by a 6×6, inevitable stares that will ensue, and leaving majority of the automobiles on the roads eating dust with its 0-60 sprint in 4.9 seconds. Mind you. That’s still a truck we are talking about. 4.9 seconds! A truck!
And those are not all it has; it also gets 6×6 locking rear axles, upgraded Fox suspension, upgraded 20-inch wheels wrapped in off-road tires, special front and rear bumpers, roll bar and LED lights. If those aren’t enough, there are an abundance of options including Brembo front and rear brake upgrade, larger wheels and tires (as if the existing ones aren’t big enough), LED lighting upgrades, bespoke interiors, electronic upgrades, and even armoring systems.
But those will, inevitably, bump up the base price of $349,000. If price tag isn’t an issue, you will still have to content with the limited number being offered. We are talking about just 50 units and that includes competitions from (very rich) overseas buyers. With that in mind, we’d suggest you pick up the phone and start hounding a Hennessey Performance sales rep, like pronto.
