The third-generation folding phone from Honor achieved a mind-bending profile of as low as 4.7 mm when open, or 9.9 mm when closed for the vegan leather model and 4.8 mm/10.1 mm for the glass back model. And it does so by shaving as much as 30g from its predecessor.

The PU leather variant tips the scales at just 231g, making it thinner and lighter than Huawei Mate X3 by 0.6 mm and 8g. This makes the new Magic V2 the thinnest and lightest folding phone right now. It is also the first foldable that is thinner than 10 mm, well, at least the vegan leather back cover one is anyways.

The glass back version weighs is not heavier by a lot, btw; it weighs in at 237g. Part of its weight reduction and thinnest achievements can be attributed to its new titanium hinge, featuring zero gearing. The hinge is said to be thin, reliable, and allows for a silky smooth opening while affording the ability to open at multiple angles.

The displays have been upgraded too. The 7.92” flexible OLED main display now supports up to 120 Hz refresh rate as opposed to 90 Hz and it has a max brightness of 1,600 nits (vs the predecessor’s 800 nits). The external display is a 120 Hz adaptive refresh rate 6.43” OLED item with a brightness that peaks at 2,500 nits.

The secondary display benefits from a 2nd-generation nano glass that is said to be 10 times more drop resistant. Both displays tout LTPO (obviously) and boast 3,840 Hz PWM dimming.

Running the clockwork is a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, featuring Adreno 740 and an 8-core processor.

On the imaging department, the new Honor Magic V2 touts a triple camera setup comprising a 50 MP wide-angle camera (f/1.9, OIS), a 50 MP ultra wide-angle camera (f/2.0), and a 20 MP telephoto camera (f/2.4, OIS). The main camera supports up to 4K video recording.
