HOVERAir AQUA Water-born Imaging Drone

Most drones can take a beating from bad weather, such as rain, but if one goes down into a body of water, it’s bad news. While water-friendly drones aren’t exactly new (remember the Airvada and Powervision PowerEgg X?), we haven’t seen one that’s truly a water-loving flying action cam. Until now.

HOVERAir AQUA Water-born Imaging Drone

Folks, meet the HOVERAir AQUA, the world’s first water-born self-flying camera from the same team that brought you cool stuff like the 8K flying action cam. It’s built to capture your water adventures, hands-free. It’s amphibious, capable of taking off and landing on both land and water.

True to it being a flying action cam, the HOVERAir AQUA flies with you. It can frame you, follow you, and even fly circles around you. No need to stress about getting the right angle. It takes care of that.

And it’s not just waterproof. It’s made for water, with over 15 waterproofing adaptations. We’re talking self-heating, hydrophobic, electrophoresis, passivation, biomimetic, nano-coating, anti-corrosive, and more.

On the imaging front, it shoots 4K at 100 fps using a flagship-level 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor paired with a custom lens made specifically for water footage.

The AQUA may be tiny, but it’s big on performance. It handles level 7 wind resistance, meaning it can fly in winds up to 33 knots (around 17 meters per second or 56 feet per second). It also boasts a top speed of 55 kilometers per hour (34 miles per hour or 29 knots). That’s what we know so far. One more thing—if you’re in the US, no registration is required since it weighs under 249 grams.
