Who’s all hyped up for the Xbox-themed IKEA furniture? If you are, here’s a completely unrelated but, for some reason, perfectly matching gadget for you to add to your setup and your Xbox Series X console.
IKEA has just added a new Bluetooth speaker called BADKRUKA to its speaker collection, and it looks suspiciously like a square version of the Xbox Series X flipped on its side. Seriously, tell me a box with holes on one side for a grille does not remind you of the Microsoft video game console.

The new BADKRUKA is made strictly for indoor use, unlike the VAPPEBY series, hence its IP20 rating. It features a tweeter-and-woofer setup that produces a total power output of 25 W. The frequency range, if you really must know, is 50–20,000 Hz.
This means this little guy has the entire audio spectrum covered. It should offer punchy mid-bass and low frequencies and should be able to deliver high-frequency detail. It promises to fill the room with balanced, mid-full sound.
Connectivity is pretty comprehensive for a device of this size: 6 1/4 inches wide, 6 1/4 inches deep, and 6 7/8 inches tall, or about 16 cm × 16 cm × 17 cm. In addition to Bluetooth for wireless streaming, it also boasts a 3.5 mm AUX input as well as an optical input.
The speaker can serve as a standalone speaker for your streaming needs and improve your TV sound for gaming and movies. It further supports stereo mode when two speakers are paired, as well as Spotify Tap.
Oh, right. It also has multi-speaker mode, allowing it to connect with other Bluetooth speakers that support the feature and play the same music. Finally, BADKRUKA offers three EQ settings for you to fine-tune the sound to suit your taste and the type of music being played back.
The IKEA BADKRUKA Bluetooth Speaker is available in a choice of black or pink for US$59.99.
