Buying art masterpieces is an expensive hobby that could literally make you broke. Just ask Nicolas Cage. And you don’t need to be Han van Meegeren to create famous art pieces because there’s LEGO Art.
Joining classic art and masterpieces like the Mona Lisa, Sunflowers, and Bridge Over a Pond of Water Lilies in brick-fied form is The Kiss by Gustav Klimt, the visionary Austrian Symbolist painter from the turn of the last century.
You may not have heard of his name, but I am sure you have seen his art depicting a couple locked in an intimate, passionate embrace. This instantly recognizable masterpiece has now been brick-fied as the LEGO Art Gustav Klimt – The Kiss (31221).
LEGO uses a whopping 4,000 pieces—making it the biggest LEGO Art masterpiece yet—to recreate one of the world’s most iconic paintings, capturing its emotion, beauty, and luxurious colors, and presenting it, for the first time, as 3D wall art.
This set is the result of a collaboration between the Danish toy company and the Belvedere Museum in Vienna, where the original painting is on display. Which kind of makes this a licensed copy, so to speak.
“This LEGO version includes Klimt’s signature and is a powerful interpretation of The Kiss, creatively using elements such as decorated circles, spirals, studs, flowers and gold metallic bricks to depict a couple wrapped in an embrace.”
The set is complete with a hanging mechanism on the back, allowing you to proudly display it on the wall. A QR code in the instruction booklet lets you listen to a podcast about Gustav Klimt and what inspired him to create The Kiss.
When completed, the LEGO Art Gustav Klimt – The Kiss (31221) measures 60 cm (23.5 in.) high, 54 cm (21.3 in.) wide, and 4 cm (1.6 in.) deep.
It will be available starting August 04, 2026, for US$299.99.
