LEGO Art Mona Lisa and Architecture Notre-Dame de Paris

I know. I have this question too: isn’t the Mona Lisa a famous painting by Italian inventor and scientist, Leonardo da Vinci? Which makes it not so French, let alone Parisian? Well, we are not wrong but Mona Lisa is now the property of France. It was bought by King Francis I of France after Leonardo da Vinci died in 1519 and it has been on display at the Louvre in Paris since 1797. So, it is as synonymous with Paris as the Eiffel Tower and the Notre Dame de Paris.

Inspired by the world’s most recognizable painting, the LEGO Art Mona Lisa lets you recreate Leonardo da Vinci’s masterpiece in 3D. This brick-built, 3D interpretation features 1,503 LEGO elements and new color hues to accurately reflect the colors used by da Vinci over 500 years ago — before the paint changed with age. It actually looks pretty cool, well at least it is on the screen. It kind of has the cel-shaded vibe to it.

Moreover, it has been designed with a drum-lacquered gold, detachable frame that allows it to be hung on the wall and displayed along with other LEGO Art sets. When completed, the LEGO Art measures 43 cm (17 inches) high, 30 cm (11.5 inches) wide, and 4 cm (1.5 inches) deep.

The LEGO Art Mona Lisa (31213) is set to arrive on October 01, 2024, for US$99.99. Meanwhile, you can secure a copy by pre-ordering it from LEGO.com.

The LEGO Architecture Notre-Dame de Paris is a brick-built recreation of one of the most recognizable buildings in Paris. This set is not just for architecture enthusiasts but also any fan of travel and history.

Using a whopping 4,383 pieces, it accurately recreates authentic details including the curved rear of the building, the bell towers, rose windows, and the central spire surrounded by statues. It has a removable roof, allowing you to take a peek at the interior columns and arches. You can lift off the towers to take a closer look inside too.

When completed, the brick-built Notre-Dame de Paris is 33 cm (13 inches) tall, 22 cm (8.5 inches) wide, and 41 cm (16 inches) deep.

It comes with an instruction booklet that takes the builder on a journey through the architectural evolution of this iconic Parisian landmark, beginning in 1163, when the first stone was laid, through architect Viollet-le-Duc’s redesign work in the 19th century to Notre-Dame’s majestic appearance before the fire of 2019.

The LEGO Architecture Notre-Dame de Paris (21061) will be available starting on June 01, 2024, for US$229.99. Eager enthusiasts can lock in a copy by pre-ordering it from LEGO.com.
