Which Star Wars fans would not like to own a LEGO Imperial Star Destroyer? I would think almost everyone. But let’s face it. Not everyone has the space for a 1.1 meter (3.6 feet) LEGO UCS Imperial Star Destroyer or afford to drop 700 bucks for a set. This is where the new LEGO Star Wars Imperial Star Destroyer (75394) Set comes in.
That’s right, my fellow Star Wars fans, there is yet another Imperial Star Destroyer. The LEGO Star Wars Imperial Star Destroyer (75394) Set sits between the midi-scale ISD (8099) and the UCS ISD.
The midi-scale LEGO ISD 8099 from 2010 had 423 pieces and measured 24.5 cm (9.6 inches) long. Meanwhile, the new ISD packs significantly more pieces, coming in at 1,555 elements, and is almost twice as long at 46 cm (18 inches). This means it has a lot more details compared to the 8099. Plus, it has a detailed interior.
Targeted at kids 10 years and older, the new 75394 features a hidden foldout carry handle for “flying” as well as 2 spring-loaded shooters. In addition, it has a life-off top panel and foldout side panels for access to the interior for even more playability.
The interior features the bridge, command room, break room, armory, control panels, and cargo box with Kyber Crystal and thermal detonator elements.
This latest LEGO ISD is based on the Imperial Star Destroyer’s appearance in Star Wars: A New Hope. While so, among the 7 minifigures, there is a minifigure that isn’t from A New Hope or any other film, TV series, cartoon, or comic; it is Cal Kestis, a Jedi Knight most notable for his appearance in the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor video games.
Other minifigures include Darth Vader, Commander Praji, an Imperial officer, an Imperial Gunner, an Imperial Navy Trooper, and a Stormtrooper.
The LEGO Star Wars Imperial Star Destroyer (75394) is available for pre-order now on LEGO.com for US$159.99 with shipping starting on August 01, 2024. The set is part of the many sets celebrating LEGO Star Wars 25th anniversary.
