If the Mercedes-Benz UNIMOG is the truck to the world (OK, maybe just Europe), then for the Americans, Mack Truck is the truck to the U.S. Continent. I don’t know, but in Boston, it seems to me that every truck is a Mack truck. Clearly, it is a truck of significance, at least to the U.S. and in the Canada, and therefore it does deserve to be immortalized as a LEGO set like so many iconic vehicles before it. But not immortalized as just any LEGO set. A LEGO Technic Set. The LEGO Technic 2-in-1 Mack Anthem Truck, designated 42078, realize this dream and you can own come January 2018 €142.99 (around $169.99, but it will probably sells for $189.99 in stateside).
Like many LEGO Technic sets, this particular one can be configured into two forms and these include a Mack Anthem semi truck, complete with sidelifters self-loading trailer and container (my personal choice, btw), and a garbage truck that boasts movable front loading forks for, you know, lifting dumpsters. Details are still vague about this upcoming LEGO Technic set, but it does appear to super detailed like LEGO Technic sets should and it looks to us that it has a power module, though we did not see any control levers. We could be wrong. Anyways, it is a set to look out for in 2018 if you are into trucks. Continue reading to steal a few more awesome looks.
