Knowing how roundish the classic FIAT 500 F was, it makes one wonder, can it ever look accurate as a LEGO model kit? That said, if I can be honest, I’d say that the LEGO 10271 Creator Expert Fiat 500 Model Kit does not quite look like the icon of the Italian automaker’s legendary ride from the 60s.
Lets face it. LEGO can never accurately replica the roundness of anything, much less the many curves found on the Fiat 500 F the kit was based on. Then again, with just 960 pieces, one can’t really ask for the world as far as details go. However, that does not make it any less desirable.
To be fair, the LEGO 10271 Creator Expert Fiat 500 Model Kit is something on its own. I will not remind myself of the association with 500 F, though. It does has hint of the original’s vibe. I am not sure if the retro-style promo video has anything do with my sentiment. Having said that, I will give LEGO and Fiat an A plus for the video effort to bring out the retro spirit of the set.
The LEGO Fiat 500 is… come si dice? AWESOME ? https://t.co/xiwEVA0of2 pic.twitter.com/GkwwLMUOWD

Highlights include luggage rack with suitcase, detailed interior (including functioning gear and handbrake levers), and opening roof, doors, hood and tailgate. It even comes with a buildable folding easel with a paintbrush, palette and small ‘painting’ of the car to complete the bonafide Italian flair.
Oh about the frunk… it only has room for a spare wheel. But hey, that’s what the luggage rack on the tailgate is for, right?
LEGO Creator Expert Fiat 500 Model Kit goes on sale on March 01 for $89.99.
To commemorate the release of LEGO set, LEGO has also created a life-size replica of the 500 F – complete with functioning lights:
This being a 1:1 scale version obviously has a lot more details and it is rideable (note: not drivable). The right door was intentionally left out to create a huge cut out of sort to facilitate getting in and out of the life-size LEGO model car.
