Microsoft Xbox Series S 1 TB Carbon Black

Whether or not your Xbox has an internal disc drive or is a digital-only console, internal storage is, well, the more the merrier. Strangely though, when the new-generation Xbox was launched, only the disc drive-equipped Xbox Series X is offered with 1 TB custom SSD internal storage while the all-digital Xbox Series S tops out at 512 GB. If that is the thing that is stopping you from picking up the S, well, then perhaps the upcoming 1 TB mode should woo you over. Or maybe not?

Anyhoo, the upcoming Microsoft Xbox Series S – 1 TB Carbon Black features Xbox Velocity Architecture, powered by a custom SSD, which works with the innovative system-on-a-chip technology to offer up to 120 fps gameplay. It offers seamless moves between multiple game titles and resumes instantly from where you left off. How is that a key feature is beyond me. The 1 TB version is pretty much the same as the original but with more onboard storage.

Since there is no optical drive, this means you can only play digital copies of the games, including those from Xbox Game Pass if you choose to subscribe to it. But the boon is, you will be able to enjoy games from four generations of Xbox, with hundreds of optimized titles that look and play better than you have remembered them.
