Never mind that a secret agent’s name should stay, well, secret. His name should not be a household name. But hey, it makes for a compelling story, right? And it certainly helps push merchandise—like the latest Montegrappa 007 Special Issue Silver Edition. Following the success of the 007 Special Issue and the 007 Spymaster Duo, the MI6 agent returns to Montegrappa once again, this time dressed in satin silver and looking as sharp as a tux at Casino Royale.

The Silver Edition takes the original 007 Special Issue and cranks the stealth chic to 11. It features a satin-finished anodized aluminum barrel with knurled texture for that “firm grip under pressure” vibe. The cap top has a rifled alloy insert recalling the iconic gun-barrel opening sequence, while engraved 007 logos can be found on the barrel and even on the fountain pen’s 14K rhodium-plated gold nib. A Montegrappa Ambigram on the brass finial seals the whole Italian-made affair, like Q signing off on Bond’s gadgets.
Specs-wise, the fountain pen measures 142 mm long and 16.8 mm in diameter, weighing in at 55 g. It fills via cartridge or converter and ships with both options. The rollerball version shares the same size but tips the scale at 60 g. Both arrive in a zip case alongside a companion 007 notebook—because even secret agents need to jot down grocery lists and enemy coordinates.
The Montegrappa 007 Special Issue Silver Edition is available from October 22, priced at €750 (~US$877) for the rollerball and €1,295 (~US$1,515) for the fountain pen. You will never have the License to kill, but you certainly can have the License to write with this beautiful writing instrument.
