And here we are thinking that the Montegrappa PAC-MAN: Ghostwriter’s price isn’t for everyone. Well, I guess we have seen nothing yet. Obviously, it is nothing new when it comes to exorbitant writing instruments, but the new Montegrappa PAC-MAN Limited Edition Pen will still blow your mind.

Where the Ghostwriter goes for the nondescript, stay-out-of-the-spotlight type, the Montegrappa PAC-MAN Limited Edition Pen makes no apologies about its luxurious status.
This is not a pen that hides in your shirt pocket pretending to be normal. This is a pen that walks into the room wearing jewelry. Crafted from Sterling Silver 925 with a ruthenium gunmetal finish, enamel detailing, and an unapologetic amount of precious stones, the pen turns a humble writing tool into something closer to wearable art. The maze that once trapped players in glowing arcade cabinets is recreated in sterling silver, with deep blue enamel lines forming the iconic paths.
At the top sits PAC-MAN himself, rendered in pavé using 111 natural yellow sapphires totaling 0.58 carats. The ghosts are no less dramatic, featuring white diamonds, blue sapphires, and sky-blue topazes arranged with pixel-perfect precision. Even the grip carries a pixel-pattern texture, turning nostalgia into something you can physically hold. The fountain pen version features an 18k gold nib and piston filling system, complete with a 50 ml ink bottle in premium packaging.

Physically, it is as substantial as its presence suggests. The pen measures 150 mm in length, 19 mm in diameter, and weighs 116 grams. This is not something you absent-mindedly twirl while thinking. You know it is there. Every gram reminds you that you are holding something created by artisans who clearly did not believe in restraint.
Only eight fountain pens and eight rollerballs exist. That is fewer than the number of lives you usually get in an arcade game. Unsurprisingly, they are already sold out.
The Montegrappa PAC-MAN Limited Edition Pen was priced at €26,000 (~30,727 USD) for the fountain pen and €25,000 (~29,545 USD) for the rollerball.
