I definitely did not see a moto slim phone coming, but I also kind of expected every brand to hop aboard the thin-phone hype train sooner or later. Never mind that Apple and Samsung’s takes on “slim” aren’t exactly setting the world on fire. So, yeah, Motorola is now joining the Thin Phone Olympics for the 2025–2026 season. Folks, this is the Motorola moto edge 70, the first device in the new edge 70 series, and at 5.99 mm thick, it is the thinnest phone in its category—and by “category,” we mean the price bracket. But more on that in a bit.

The moto edge 70 isn’t just a pretty slice of aluminum. It’s a full-featured powerhouse pretending to be on a diet. The body is crafted from aircraft-grade aluminum with a nylon-inspired finish that feels both premium and practical. It’s available in Pantone-curated colors, with tastefully colored accents around the cameras that make it look more boutique than budget. It’s sleek, confident, and the kind of phone that looks like it should whisper stock tips.
Despite its slim profile, it’s tough enough to handle life’s little “oops” moments. The edge 70 comes with IP68 and IP69 water protection, Gorilla Glass 7i, and MIL-STD-810H certification, which basically means it could survive a coffee spill, a desert hike, or an accidental launch off your desk without turning into modern art.
The camera setup is also pure show-off material. There are three 50 MP sensors—main, ultrawide/macro, and front—each working with a Sony LYTIA 600 sensor and moto ai2 image processing. Features like Action Shot, Group Shot, and Signature Style make it sound like the camera has more personality than some influencers. Expect rich color, crisp detail, and actual usable selfies, all validated by Pantone’s color standards.

Under the hood, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chip handles performance and AI tasks, while the 4,800 mAh silicon-carbon battery promises up to 38 hours of mixed use or 29 hours of video playback. Charging options include 68 W TurboPower wired and 15 W wireless, which is plenty for something this thin.
Even the packaging got a glow-up. It’s plastic-free, printed with soy ink, and made from 20% recycled materials—a nod to Motorola’s greener ambitions.
The Motorola moto edge 70 is now available in select European and Middle Eastern markets, starting at €799. So yes, it’s ultra-thin, ultra-tough, and ultra-Motorola—the kind of dream phone, you know, after all the skepticism about the thinnest.
