The Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch, an emblem of horological prestige and space exploration heritage, unveils its latest edition featuring a unique lacquered white dial, inspired by astronaut spacesuits and the watch’s significant history.
This highly anticipated model, first seen on Omega ambassador Daniel Craig, offers a fresh take with its striking white dial contrasted by black details and a glossy lacquered finish, a first for the Moonwatch’s step dial.
The choice of white nods to the thermal reflection advantages discovered during the creation of the ALASKA I prototype for NASA, with a red Speedmaster name echoing the command rank insignia on astronaut suits since Apollo 13.
Key features include:
- 42 mm stainless steel case with a choice of a vintage-inspired stainless steel bracelet, a black micro-perforated leather strap with red and white stitching, or an anti-bacterial rubber strap featuring a moon surface pattern.
- Lacquered white dial with applied indexes, black detailing, and red Speedmaster name.
- Powered by the Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3861, an update to the historic Calibre 321.
- Dot over Ninety” detail on the black anodized aluminum bezel’s tachymeter scale for a nod to its legacy.
This edition not only celebrates the Speedmaster’s storied association with space missions but also introduces innovative design elements to Omega’s iconic chronograph series.
The new OMEGA Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional with Lacquered White Dial commands a US$8,100 sticker. It does not appear to be available online yet.
