Swatch has launched a celestial twist in their Omega X Swatch collaboration with the Bioceramic MoonSwatch Mission To The Moonphase. Celebrating the full moon in all-white, this timepiece not only boasts a chronograph function like its predecessors but also introduces a moon phase function for the first time, featuring Snoopy snoozing on the moon.
This unique combo salutes Omega’s storied space legacy, including its vital role in the Apollo 13 mission and the lunar module Snoopy from Apollo 10. The moon phase and chronograph combo tracks both time and the lunar, and the presence of Snoopy chilling on the moon phase disc adds a dash of whimsy.
For the uninitiated, the presence of Snoopy is a nod to Snoopy’s longstanding role as NASA’s mascot, complete with a UV light-revealed quote from the comic strip on the moon phase mask and disc.
Crafted from Swatch’s innovative Bioceramic, this watch embodies a mix of ceramic and castor oil-based materials, offering a sustainable yet stylish option for watch enthusiasts.
Other highlight features include an asymmetrical case, the iconic tachymeter-scaled bezel, Speedmaster subdials, a space-ready Velcro strap, water resistance to 3 bar (30 meters or 100 feet), and an indented case back featuring a comic moon with Snoopy’s paw, underscore with the words “MISSION TO THE MOON”.
Available from March 26 in select stores for around US$310, this non-limited edition aims to make the legendary Moonwatch vibe accessible to a broader audience.
