If your idea of luggage still involves nylon zippers and airport conveyor belts, the new RADIO EVA MONOGRAM TRUNK by Rhino Trunk & Case would like a quiet word. Preferably from the corner of a room where it is already doubling as furniture.

The release marks the arrival of SAI-GEAR, the new Japanese e-commerce platform from the official distributor of Rhino Trunk & Case, a Rochester, New York outfit that has been building old-school American trunks since 2003. Think summer camp nostalgia, college-dorm practicality, and road-tour durability—now dressed in Evangelion attitude.
Created with Evangelion’s lifestyle label RADIO EVA as part of its “THE 30” anniversary collaboration program, the monogram trunk blends Rhino’s industrial-strength construction with graphics inspired by the franchise’s unmistakable visual language. The result looks less like storage and more like something that should contain classified Nerv documents.
It is also unapologetically large. Measuring about 810 × 455 × 360 mm (31.9 × 17.9 × 14.2 inches), this is the sort of trunk that invites serious use: gear storage, record archives, seasonal wardrobe rotation, or simply anchoring a room with quiet authority.
Speaking of records, SAI-GEAR is also launching a Japan-exclusive Rhino Record Box Trunk tailored specifically for vinyl collectors—equal parts protection and interior statement piece.
Everything sold through the platform ships domestically within Japan after passing through the official distributor’s hands first, which helps avoid the usual overseas-shipping roulette that sometimes accompanies imported gear.
The RADIO EVA MONOGRAM TRUNK is a Japanese exclusive trunk, with a pretty steep 242,000 yen (tax included) [JP] sticker (about US$1,525). Unfortunately, we are a little late on this. The pre-order campaign has closed. It is not clear if it will be available to those who missed the pre-order campaign when it starts shipping in early June 2026.
The trunk is just the latest addition to the growing wave of Evangelion 30th anniversary releases, which already includes a Seiko dive watch, a Transformers collaboration toy, a Copic Sketch set, and more.
