Link has travelled by horse, boat, minecart, paraglider, and whatever abomination players have assembled from Zonai devices. In The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, however, his coolest transport remains the Master Cycle Zero.
UK cosplayer and maker Littlejem decided that leaving it trapped inside a game was unacceptable. She built a working real-life Master Cycle based around a Yamaha R6, complete with the machine’s distinctive ancient-Sheikah styling, glowing details, enormous front assembly, and enough bodywork to make any mechanic quietly reconsider their career.
Then she raced it, because merely building a rideable version of Link’s magical motorcycle was apparently too ordinary. Besides, it does need to prove its worth.
The result looks remarkably close to its digital counterpart and, unlike the in-game machine, does not require apples, monster parts, or half of Hyrule’s grocery supply to keep moving. Petrol is probably less charming, but considerably easier to obtain than Ancient Screws.
Nintendo may never produce an official Master Cycle. That is fine. Littlejem has already shown it can exist; you just need skill, patience, a Yamaha, and absolutely no concern about making every Zelda fan jealous. Wait. Does this mean we just witnessed a motorcycle cosplaying? 😄
