Hollywood has already given Ferrari and Lamborghini the biopic treatment. Now Maserati is rolling into cinemas with Maserati: The Brothers, a historical drama about the siblings who founded the Italian automaker in 1914.
Michele Morrone plays Alfieri Maserati, with Salvatore Esposito as Bindo and Lorenzo De Moor as Carlo. The supporting cast is modest: Anthony Hopkins, Al Pacino, Andy García, and Jessica Alba. Damn. I swear the acting budget probably required its own financing round.
Directed by Bobby Moresco, the film follows the family’s journey from a small Bologna garage to motor-racing glory, with financial trouble, dangerous competition, and enough brotherly tension to make Thanksgiving dinner look relaxing.
Production reportedly constructed dozens of working replicas of 1920s and 1930s Maseratis, including the Tipo 26. That is admirable dedication when a computer could have generated them and accidentally given each car seven wheels.
The film is the first project Andrea Iervolino went into production for after stepping down from ILBE, under The Andrea Iervolino Company (TAIC) that was launched in September 2024.
Maserati: The Brothers is expected to arrive in 2026.
