What happens when a V12-powered work of art meets, well, actual art? You get Reflections of Speed, a massive light sculpture by British-American artist Anthony James, inspired by the Aston Martin Vanquish. Unveiled at Hollywood’s Chateau Marmont during Frieze Los Angeles, this 6,000-pound (2,721 kg) behemoth transforms the sleek curves of Aston Martin’s flagship into a glowing, futuristic masterpiece.

James, known for his infinity light sculptures, has essentially turned the Vanquish into a portal to another dimension—where high performance meets high art. The 5.4m x 2.6m (17.7 ft x 8.5 ft) sculpture blends mirrored glass and LED lighting, reflecting the car in a seemingly endless cosmic tunnel. Think Tron, but make it luxury.
Vanquish, of course, is no stranger to being called a masterpiece. It’s Aston Martin’s most powerful front-engine sports car, and now, thanks to Anthony James, it’s also the centerpiece of a boundary-pushing sculpture. Following its Hollywood debut, Reflections of Speed will head to the Petersen Automotive Museum before being auctioned to support the LA Arts Community Fire Relief Fund.
So, whether you admire it on a plinth or behind the wheel, the Vanquish proves one thing: art and speed are timeless.
