Unbeknownst to most, BMW Designworks have been around for quite a while now – 22 years to be exact, since BMW acquisition in 1995. For those who don’t already know, the creative consultancy has been involved in a lot of design and consultancy works across various industries. The more recent works include conceiving, in collaboration with Selle Royal, an advanced e-bike saddle and a “backhoe” of the future, designed with John Deere. Yes. Even a backhoe! Continue reading Unknown To Most, BMW Designworks’ Portfolio Also Includes An e-Bike Saddle And Even A Backhoe
Our favorite mad garage inventor, British plumber-turned-YouTube-inventing-celebrity, Colin Furze, is back and this time, he have received a special request from Google. The search giant wanted the madcap inventor to create something which could be used to advertise the Mountain View tech company’s search. In other words, the creation should be usable as a vehicle to promote using the products from Google’s advertisers and for companies to use them to sell. For a man who has an insatiable appetite to create, it is only natural for Furze to take up the challenge. Continue reading Madcap Inventor Show You How To Make A Jacuzzi On Wheels… With BBQ
Described as an “electric mobility of the much more immediate future,” the BMW i Vision Dynamics bears a shell that indeed looks like a probable car of today, or at least, in very near future. Unveiled at this year’s IAA Cars 2017 show in Frankfurt, the BMW i Vision Dynamics is a four-door Gran Coupe powered by an undisclosed electric drive that offers a range of 373 miles (600 km), promised a top speed of 120 miles an hour (200 km/h) and takes mere four seconds to cover the century sprint. These are numbers that are not out-of-this-world, which means, they are likely to be realized. Even the aesthetic, while ‘futuristic’ in a way, looks pretty down-to-earth. If you have wondering how will the next Z4 looks like, well, wonder no more because BMW has, at this Concours d’Elegance at Pebble Beach, unveiled what-could-be-the-next Z4 looks like which it aptly christened BMW Concept Z4. Not surprisingly, BMW has retained the unmistakable distinct wedge-shaped silhouette of the Z4, including a lithe and compact proportions that sports an outstretched hood and a very, very compact rear, along with a low-slung form with a long wheelbase to boot. In other words, it embodies the elements classic roadster design. Continue reading BMW Concept Z4 Gives You A Peek Of What Future Z4 May Look Like
What you see here is not a half-baked electric maxi-scooter C Evolution from BMW Motorrad. It is just Rolf Reick of Krautmotors giving the C Evolution the art of omission, which means it is intentionally left bare. That’s another level of industrial look there that gives it an apocalypse vibe. I like! The multidisciplinary customizer has taken the road less traveled when whipping his magic on the BMW Motorrad’s e-scooter, removing the original cladding and adding an old-school casing which leaves half of the bike’s internals in all its glory. Yes, only half, but that’s dope enough. Man, the old-school casing in matte black kind of add to the futuristic apocalypse look. Good news M fans who can’t get enough of M power. The newest M power, the new BMW M5, has just gone official and it looks, well, so very 2017 BMW. That being said, there’s really nothing to pick on the aesthetic; it is just the design language you have come to expect of a Beemer of 2017/18. What’s important to true M fans would be what goes under that muscular, sculpted aluminum hood which happens to be a very, very angry 4.4L V8 bi-turbo motor with, you guessed it, M TwinPower Turbo technology that kicks out 600 horses and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm) of torque. Continue reading BMW Unveiled New 4.4L V8 Bi-Turbo M5 with 600 HP of Adrenalin Rush
First of all, I have no idea why a German car is decorated with Italian definitive symbol of cuisine, spaghetti, and presented in an auction by BMW France. Quite a mix, don’t you think? Anyways, the car you see here is the BMW i3 “Spaghetti Car” as touched by artist Maurizio Cattelan, the same artist behind the solid 18-karat toilet bowl. For some reasons unknown to our non-artistic minds, Cattelan and photographer Pierpaolo Ferrari, collectively called TOILETPAPER (!?), have decided to use the duo’s signature style spaghetti close-up imagery to decorated a BMW i3 and the result is, to us, both quirky and strangely alluring. BMW has come together with premium trail bike maker SPECIALIZED to introduce a limited-run special edition of the bike maker’s Specialized Turbo Levo called SPECIALIZED for BMW Turbo Levo FSR 6Fattie. No doubt a marketing effort to promote German automaker’s new Sports Activity Vehicle, the new-generation X3, judging from its appearance in the various product images available to the press. Anyways, marketing talks aside, this e-mountain bike is clearly an exquisite, top-end item. Clever integration of the power module into the specially developed aluminum frame gave the bike a clean, regular bike look (but in an uber sleek way, of course). If you are planning to turn a lovely BMW M4 into a track-going beast, well, don’t, because BMW wants to save you the hassle with this tuned-for-track 2018 BMW M4 GT4. That’s right. The luscious M4 has a track variant and it wouldn’t be anything less of a ‘yay’ for track enthusiasts and racing car teams. As the name suggests, the GT4 is built upon the M4 Coupé, which means it inherited the engine and transmission, including control electronics, from the M4 Coupé, but being a tuned-for-track ride, it gets some serious upgrades like carbon hood from the BMW M4 GTS, carbon-fiber doors, motorsport-specific splitters and rear wings, a racing exhaust system, and seat, brakes and pedal box borrowed from BMW M6 GT3. It is time of the year again. The Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este is upon us and like every other year, this prestigious event where classic and vintage cars congregate is also the hotbed for big name automakers to show off their proudest rides, concepts included, and this irresistibly good-looking 2018 BMW Concept 8 Series coupe is among them. The event, btw, is happening right now, through to May 28 at the shores of Lake Como, Italy. BMW described this new ride as having “unadulterated dynamics and modern luxury,” which by the looks of it, it surely have both.
