I am not a huge fan of Winter Olympics, but take it that Team USA is preparing to top the chart, as always, or at least, Nike has already prepared the team to received medals in some really cool winter apparels. Dubbed Team USA Medal Stand Collection, these apparels will help the 2018 Winter Olympians representing the USA to beat stand up to the cold in the super cold, below freezing temperatures expected at this year Winter Olympics at PyeongChang, South Korea, where all medal ceremonies, with the exception of ice hockey, will be held in open-air arenas. You Would Never Have Guessed Reebok Also Made Space Boot For Astronauts

Who would have thought sport gear maker Reebok would ever produce footwear for astronauts? Certainly not us. The Reebok Floatride Space Boot SB-01 you see here is the footwear in question and it was developed in collaboration with David Clark Company’s aerospace branch. This pair of boots is literally a space-age footwear. Most impressively, though, it is not even a concept as in the case of many such footwear; the Reebok Floatride Space Boot SB-01 is being put through its paces by astronauts and if all goes as planned, it will be the boot of choice for astronauts shuttling between Earth and the International Space Station (ISS). Dr. Martens Goes On Diet With DM’s Lite, Says Goodbye To Chunky Soles

Dr. Martens has been around for the longest time. The UK shoe maker is arguably as iconic as the UK pop stars of the 80s. It is known for footwear that are on the clunky side and it has always been so like forever. However, of late, the now-Permira own shoe maker has gone on a ‘revolution’ with a new range called DM’s Lite. Hailed as “the next revolution,” the new range is a revolution indeed with the shoe maker doing away with traditional chunky soles and went with a new ultra lightweight sole to result in a sleeker and lightweight kicks. Converse Wants You To Beat The Cold With These All-Weather Chuck Taylor All Star Sneakers

Converse is over a century old and its iconic All Star named after the former basketball player and shoe salesman, Charles Hollis “Chuck” Taylor aka Chuck Taylor, has been around for ages. You can consider its design old school, employing mainly rubbers and canvas for its construction, which naturally, are the recipe to avoid during wet weather or cold winter months. Those are the times where you’d chuck your Chuck Taylor in favor of warmer and water resisting footwear. Well, there’s good news. This you won’t have to this year, thanks to the introduction of Chuck Taylor All Star ’70 “Wet Suit” and All Tekoa Sneakers. Wilcox Boots – Handcrafted Boots Made for Adventuring in Classic Style

Boots made for rugged environments are a dime a dozen with many of them coming from big brand names which are usually pricey and/or lacking the personal touch. While price is usually overcome by small scale makers, personal touch is often not. But what do we mean by personal touch? To us, personal touch means footwear that are handcrafted by true shoe artisans and that’s very important because machines know no comfort and neither will the machines know the art of shoemaking. Only the person making it knows. With that in mind, Utah-based startup Wilcox Boots sets out to create boots that not only addresses comfort and durability, but with classic styling which boots lovers all over the world have love and embrace so dearly. This Rugged Boot is Designed for Civilians, But Soon To Be Used by Marines and Special Forces

When it comes to tough-wearing, no nonsense boots that will see you through your outdoor activities, there is nothing like a pair that’s designed by someone who actually uses them. The Lalo Tactical Shadow Boot is exactly the rugged boots made for civilians to rough it out in whatever they maybe doing. The Shadow Boot is the product of Lalo, a startup founded by former Navy SEAL Nathenael Roberti who had seen plenty of action, including deployment in Afghanistan, right in the middle of danger zone. Apart from the obvious dangers and threats, one other thing that really bugged Roberti was the boots; they become uncomfortably heavy and noisy when wet and as a result, he had to have them changed out for a dry pair mid-mission, which is clearly not an ideal scenario regardless if its war or leisure and hence, the birth of Shadow Boot, which Roberti is selling alongside his other line of shoes that goes under Lalo Sport. Timberland’s Limited Release Level 61 6-inch Boot Pays Homage To Mobb Deep

what you see here is not a ‘vintage’ from the 90s. it is a reissue of the 6-inch boot, which is also a collaboration between the outdoor wear maker and the 90s hip hop sensation (who are very much alive and kicking, btw), featuring rich brown leather upper, along with metal ‘nut’ (as in bolts and nuts) eyelet, two-tone nylon rope laces, cushioned green nubuck collar, and finally, finishing off with the signature high-traction and durable rubber lug outsole. so are we impressed by the images. of course, we are, if not we won’t be featuring it. but the thing is, we are not even sure if it is in fact a collab or was Timberland paying homage to the Queens hip hop duo. Bates Footwear Unveils Recondo, A Jungle Boot Developed In Partnership with USASFC

if you hunt, trek or camp quite a bit, then you will need a solid pair of boots like the new Recondo Jungle Boot by Bates Footwear to go with. we not saying the Recondo is the best, but when you have a pair of rugged kicks that has been developed in partnership with United States Army Special Forces Command (USASFC) and designed based on the feedback of 75th Army Ranger Regiment, then you probably can’t go wrong. named after the Reconnaissance and Commando Training Course (presumably, ‘recon’ of reconnaissance and ‘do’ of Commando) developed in the 50s at Fort Campbell, the Recondo features Wolverine Warrior Leather which embodies a series of rugged footwear-desirable qualities including lightweight, durable, breathable, and resistant to water, stain and oil. i am sure we are all familiar with Wellington Boots, but the Wellington Boots we know today shares nothing in common with its aristocratic past. these days, they are mostly made of materials like rubber and polyvinyl chloride and have seen applications ranging from personal use to construction to field works, in wet and muddy conditions. of course, you can still find Wellington Boots crafted from leather for hunting, but for our everyday life, it is commonly used and referred to as rain boots. they are hardy pair of footwear, but the thing is, due to its physical size, it requires quite a bit of space in the closet and you don’t wear them unless it is raining, which where the problem arises. what if you are caught out in the rain? these are two problems which Estel Alcaraz’s Sardines Rain Boots aimed to eradicate and from what we see, its designer Estel Alcaraz, might have hit the nail on the head.
