Oh, MSCHF! Only this brand could turn a walking boot—yes, an actual orthopedic boot—into a pair of shoes you can wear like regular kicks. That’s right, my friends. MSCHF has taken a futuristic medical device that looks like it is part of an Iron Man suit and transformed it into everyday footwear.

The AC.1 was designed in response to people who thought the walking boot looked incredible. To be honest, it’s not as ridiculous as the Backward Kicks or the Flipped Flop, but turning a medical device meant to stabilize and protect the foot after an injury or surgery into a fashion statement is pretty damn wild.
The AC.1 looks nearly identical to a walking boot, right down to the inner sleeve—a water-resistant neoprene sock, a dual-airbag sensor stem for ankle support, and the familiar hard shell and straps. However, unlike the actual medical boot, it covers the toes, which, let’s be real, is a major improvement—and the only telltale sign that you don’t actually have broken feet. Not going to lie—as bewildered as I was when I first saw this orthopedic-inspired sneaker, I’m kinda digging the look.
MSCHF didn’t stop there. They also released a sandal-style slip-on version called the AC.2. The AC.1 dropped in October 2022, followed by the AC.2 in August 2023. Originally, the AC.1 retailed for US$450, while the AC.2 came in at US$115.
Now for the real good news for those who love medical footwear-inspired fashion: both the AC.1 and AC.2—along with select MSCHF products—are currently 40% off. That means you can snag the AC.1 for US$270 and the AC.2 for just US$69. But hurry—we have no idea how long this sale will last.
