If you haven’t caught wind of it, Japanese ladies’ fashion brand QOOZA—best known for its glam rock aesthetic—has teamed up with Studio Khara to bring Evangelion into its collection once again. This marks the third collaboration between QOOZA and the ’90s pop culture icon, following two previous collections that infused its bold style with Evangelion-inspired designs.
But this time, QOOZA isn’t going at it alone. It has joined forces with Spanish shoemaker New Rock to unleash a collection of ultra-thick-soled high-cut sneakers upon the world.
The QOOZA Evangelion X New Rock collection features New Rock’s signature towering outsole—a ridiculously tall 9 cm (3.5 inches) heel—blended with a retro sporty style and, of course, a heavy dose of Evangelion flair.
Three models are on offer: the black NERV model, the white SEELE model, and—last but not least—the Unit 01 model, decked out in Evangelion’s signature purple, green, and black. Each pair also comes with a metal plate on the tongue, unique to its design. The Unit 01 model features an “EVA 1” engraving, while the SEELE and NERV versions sport their respective logos—SEELE’s being from the Rebuild continuity.
All three models—Evangelion x New Rock [Unit 01], Evangelion x New Rock [SEELE], and Evangelion x New Rock [NERV]—are available for pre-order in Japan for a cool 72,600 yen per pair [JP] (roughly 483 USD).
