Bold Hypersonic Concept Jets Will Fly From London To New York In 30 Mins

Technology has advanced leaps and bounds, but one thing mankind hasn’t progress quite as much is air travel’s speeds. The fact remains that, unless teleportation becomes a reality, air travel will remain the preferred and fastest mode of transport between cities and countries which still takes hours on ends. But could aircraft be made to go any faster? Well, as far as speed is concerned, companies like Spike Aerospace and Aerion Supersonic are working to trim the time required to fly from New York to London and vice versa to half. However, Charles Bombardier has bolder and more ambitious ideas. His non-profit technology group, Imaginactive has proposed jets that could make the same trip in just 30 minutes, or circle the globe in an hour. $700,000 Personal Aircraft Looks Like A Flying Craft From The Future

Forget about flying cars. They are not going to happen anytime soon. So, now your best bet would be splurging on a Bugatti that will get you from point A to point B faster, but at the mercy of the traffic, or get yourself a private jet that lets you travel farther in a significantly shorter time. For the latter, we are not talking about some “old man” executive jet like Gulfstream here; we are talking about an aircraft as sleek as the Cobalt Co50 Valkyrie. Even the name itself gives you a sense of hipness to it and the aesthetic, by the look of it, isn’t going to disappoint either. Here’s Another Supersonic Jet That Wants to Take You from London to New York in 4 Hours

A typical passenger jet travels at a subsonic speed of between 475 and 500 knots (around 546 and 575 mph), which should take you from London to New York in 6-7 hours. By hours, that’s pretty quick, but with respect to daytime, that’s half of your waking hours gone to waste. However, if Aerion Supersonic has its way, the future of air travel may leaves you with a little more time on your hands. Aerion Supersonic, in a joint partnership with Airbus, is developing the AS2 that could zip through the atmosphere at a top speed of Mach 1.6, which translates to about 1,218 mph or 1,960 km/h and maintains a cruising speed at Mach 1.1-1.2. Though not as fast as the supreme but retired Concorde Supersonic Jet and about half of what modern military fighter jets can achieved, the AS2 will still cut your trip to London to New York to 4 hours and 20 minutes. Spike S-512 Supersonic Business Jet

since the ‘demise’ of the Concorde, air travel has pretty much ‘slowed down’ quite a bit in respect to speed. everyday folks with money to drop and who wish to travel any faster can no longer do so, however, this is set to change with the Spike S-512 Supersonic Business Jet, an upcoming private jet that will inevitably change the landscape of air travel, well, at least for the wealthy folks. the brainchild of Boston-based Spike Aerospace, the S-512 is a small 18-passenger jet capable of cruising at mach 1.6 (1,100 mph or 1,770 km/h), which will cut typical flight time by half, if not more. this means that a regular flight from New York to London would take less than four hours instead of 6-7 hours on current commercial jets. Saker S-1 Personal Jet

we almost wanted to term the Saker S-1 Personal Jet a Fighter Jet, but it isn’t one. Saker Aircraft, the establishment responsible for this fighter jet-like personal jet, described the S-1 as “where military performance and style meets general aviation” which could only mean one thing: it is freaking awesome. and yet, this aircraft is totally capable of up jetting up to 0.99 Mach – a little short of breaking the sound barrier (and in fact, it can cos’ theoretically, it has a top speed of Mach 1.1), which also means, this bird is pretty damn fast. though bearing the form of the menacing, gas-guzzling fighter jet, it however, uses 20 percent less fuel than “the competitors” – all thanks to fuel-efficient Williams FJ44-4 engines and advanced aerodynamics that drastically minimized the drag, and with 5,000 hour TBO on the engines, it cost only $2 per nautical mile to operate which, if you already can afford its $7 million asking price, is well considered as cheap to operate.
