I have a thing for firearms. Unfortunately, where we come from, firearms are a big no-no. Well, actually you can still buy small arms here, but they had to be secured in a licensed range, which means your precious ones can only be admired at the range or gun club. Anyways, for gun nuts who drinks (and by drinks, we do mean beers – especially bottled ones) and embraces the idea of second Amendment (for U.S. residents, that is), here’s an awesome tool to celebrate two of your biggest loves: The Hammer Bottle Opener by Martin American Designs. While the name doesn’t quite spell it out, this bottle opener is repurposed from real assault rifle parts.
Designed, made and hand assembled in the good’ol US of A, the bottle opener is actually the hammer pulled from either a M16 assault rifle or a AR-15 rifle, ground down, “cerakoted” (means coated with Cerakote gun coating), and laser engraved. Each bottle opener comes complete a stainless steel cable keychain, so it can doubles as a handy and super cool keychain. In case you don’t already know, the hammer is a part of the firearm that swings to create an impact to initiate a firing when the trigger is pulled. The M16’s and the AR-15’s hammer differs slightly, as the M16 is essentially a military spec rifle with full auto capability, while the AR-15 is a civilian version that does semi-auto only. There are some other differences (mainly to prevent the AR-15 from being converted into a full-auto model), but we shan’t go into depth.
