Never mind if the J29 Toyota Supra looked too much like the G29 BMW Z4, but if you are down with the look and resides in Japan, there are two new, super limited editions for you.
To mark the 35th-anniversary of the Supra name brand, Toyota has announced two Toyota Gazoo Racing special specification cars: an RZ 35th Anniversary Edition and an SZ-R 35th Anniversary Edition.
As the names imply, the RZ 35th Anniversary Edition is based on the RZ and the SZ-R 35th Anniversary Edition, on the SZ-R.
They may not be for everyone because the so-called 35th Anniversary Edition treatment is nothing more than cosmetics.
The special RZ will get a matte gray paint job, genuine leather seats, and a red interior.
The special SZ-R gets a little more with sports brake with red calipers, matte black door mirror, Alcantara seat, an ignition red interior color, and special edition accelerator pedal and a brake pedal.
In the case of SZ-R, there are five body colors to choose from, including the Lighting Yellow you see here.
Both cars roll on 19-inch forged aluminum wheels in matte black and feature a 35th Anniversary Edition badge in carbon fiber material that stretches the entire length of the glove compartment. Carbon fiber accent can also be found on the center console of both vehicles.
The RZ 35th Anniversary Edition is priced at 7,835,000 yen while the SZ-R 35th Anniversary Edition sells for 6,535,000 yen (about US71,034 and US$59,248, respectively).
Quantity is super limited with each model having a limited run of just 35 units. You can’t just buy it as you would with regular cars; there is a lottery system where only winners will get to buy either model.
