There was the road-legal, WRC homologation Toyota GR Yaris. There was the Special Edition GR Yaris RZ. The thing is, there is no lack of high-performing Yaris but if you are a true fan of rally motorsport which this model of Toyota Gazoo Racing truly excels, then you will want to take a look at the Toyota GR Yaris RZ High-performance Sébastien Ogier Edition and the Toyota GR Yaris RZ High-performance Kalle Rovanperä Edition.
Earlier this year in January, TOYOTA GAZOO Racing introduced two special edition vehicles, the GR Yaris RZ High-performance Sébastien Ogier Edition (Ogier Edition) and Kalle Rovanperä Edition (Rovanperä Edition), at the Rallye Monte Carlo for the 2024 FIA World Rally Championship.
Limited to 100 units each in Japan, these models celebrate WRC champions Sébastien Ogier and Kalle Rovanperä with unique designs and performance features.
Both editions boast new 4WD control modes for enhanced driving dynamics, a six-speed manual transmission, and distinctive aesthetic touches including exclusive paint jobs, WRC victory decals, and national flag-themed details.
The Ogier Edition features a matte “Stealth Gray” color and lightweight rally spoiler, while the Rovanperä Edition sports a three-tone paint job and a variable-wing rear spoiler. Interior enhancements include WRC commemorative badges, exclusive GR Full TFT gauge displays with special driving modes, and steering wheel stitching reflecting the drivers’ national colors.
Additionally, buyers will enjoy special WRC-related perks, including interaction with the drivers and other team members, WRC car view and pit tour, and special stage (SS) spectating at the 2024 WRC Round 143 Forum8 Rally Japan. Plus, buyers’ names will be displayed on the WRC cars for the 2024 season in selected rounds and be presented with special commemorative gifts.
Both models were displayed at the Nagoya Station on February 15-18, before the sales lottery began. I know. It sucks there are just 100 units each to go around and they are limited to the Japanese market. It also does not help that sales of the cars are only via lottery which started on March 21, 2024.
